Project Overview

As the largest art museum in southwestern Virginia, the Taubman Museum of Art serves as the region’s premier destination for world-class arts and culture. We were tasked to infuse renewed vitality into the museum's image while honoring its esteemed artistic legacy. Our aim was to create an immersive and captivating brand identity that not only engages existing patrons but also entices new audiences to explore the wealth of artistic experiences that Taubman has to offer.

We recognized the importance of showcasing the museum's vibrant and diverse exhibitions within its brand identity. By integrating elements from current exhibitions into our redesign, we not only celebrate the museum's artistic offerings but also created a dynamic and ever-evolving visual identity. Through collaboration with curators and artists, we selected key motifs, themes, and art that encapsulates the spirit of each exhibition. These elements were seamlessly woven into various brand touchpoints, from digital platforms to printed materials, creating a cohesive narrative that invites audiences to engage with the museum's programming on a deeper level.

Itssimplicity offered a versatile canvas for creative exploration, allowing us todistill the essence of the museum into a memorable visual icon. Throughthoughtful typography and graphic elements, we reimagined the lette"T" s a symbol of artistic expression. Whether rendered as astandalone mark or integrated seamlessly into the broader brand identity, theletter "T" serves as a beacon, guiding audiences to discover therichness and diversity of the museum's offerings.

By integrating elements from current exhibitions, exploring a dynamic color palette, and leveraging the simplicity of the letter "T," we successfully created a cohesive and compelling brand identity that resonates with visitors and reaffirms the museum's position as a bellwether of artistic excellence, and fosters a deeper appreciation for the power of art in our lives.
